New York City Classical Guitarist Bio:
Daniel Lippel, a highly acclaimed guitarist, has built a diverse career that includes solo and chamber music performances, commissioning and recording projects, and performances in a variety of contexts. He has premiered over 50 new solo and chamber works, many written specifically for him. He co-founded and runs the independent label New Focus Recordings, and has recorded several albums on the label. Lippel has performed at venues such as Le Poisson Rouge, Sinus Ton Festival, the National University of Colombia, Lawrence University, and the New York, Philadelphia, and Cleveland Classical Guitar Societies. He has also been a member of the ensembles counter)induction, FretX duo, the International Contemporary Ensemble, Con Vivo Music, and new music quartet Flexible Music, and guest with many other ensembles. Lippel has worked with many acclaimed composers and has released 13 recordings as a primary artist on New Focus, and appears on over 40 recordings on various labels. He also serves as an educator, with a focus on demystifying contemporary repertoire for guitarists and the guitar for composers.
